Why Buy from Askem8
Real Shooting Experience
We shoot Wolfen Films at live weddings. The footage is on this page. That is the standard we hold the film to. We are not a distributor that lists products and waits. We are a working film studio that uses what we sell.
Open Workflow
We recommend Cinelab and Negativeland because they deliver better scans at lower cost than closed bundles. We do not process film ourselves. We have no financial relationship with either lab. We recommend them because they are the best options for most U.S. shooters.
Genuine Film Stock
Wolfen is made by FilmoTec GmbH in Germany and distributed by Wittner Cinetec. It is the same manufacturer that has supplied European film labs and cinematographers for decades. This is not a repackaged or rebranded stock. It is original motion picture film available in the U.S. through a dedicated storefront focused on education, open workflow, and real world Super 8 results.
Transparent Pricing
Every cart is $39.99. No tiers. No bundles. No upsells at checkout. The cost comparison on this page shows exactly what the full workflow costs. There are no surprises.
Important Information Before You Order
Wolfen Super 8 film cartridges are motion picture film stocks manufactured in Germany by FilmoTec GmbH. They are compatible with all Super 8 cameras.
Film must be processed by a motion picture lab. Film must be sent to a motion picture lab after shooting. Askem8 does not process film. We recommend Cinelab in Massachusetts or Negativeland in New York. Links and pricing are listed in the processing section above.
If you are traveling with exposed film, request hand inspection at airport security. CT scanners now common at U.S. airports can damage unexposed and exposed film. Inform the TSA officer that you are carrying unprocessed photographic film and request a hand check.
Film is a perishable product. Store unexposed film in a cool, dry location away from heat and humidity. Refrigeration is recommended for long-term storage. Allow refrigerated film to return to room temperature before loading into your camera.
